1.Determine the inner diameter (ID)
The inner diameter directly affects the flow rate, and the selection basis is:
Flow requirements:
Small flow (such as household/small equipment) → 1/4″~1/2″ (5~13mm)
Medium flow (agricultural irrigation, industrial water supply) → 3/4″~2″ (20~50mm)
Large flow (drainage, fire protection) → 2″ or more (more than 50mm)
2.Confirm the working pressure
Low-pressure applications (such as household drainage, low-pressure irrigation) → 4~6 bar (standard type)
Medium-high-pressure applications (industrial pumping) → 10~20 bar (need to choose a high-pressure model and thicken the fiber layer)
3. Consider the medium and temperature
Water/air: standard PVC hose is sufficient.
Oil/chemicals: confirm whether the PVC material is oil-resistant or chemical-resistant (for example, oil-resistant type is required for diesel transport).
Temperature range:
Normal: -10°C ~ +65°C
High temperature (such as hot water): high temperature resistant type is required .
4. Installation and bending requirements
Bending radius: The minimum bending radius of the hose is usually 5 to 8 times the pipe diameter. Frequent bending requires a high-flexibility model.
Length: Reserve a margin according to the actual distance to avoid pulling (for example, 50 to 100 meters per roll is recommended for irrigation).
